To enhance core skills development, Renewsiya Foundation has developed formal core skills training curriculums. Each curriculum focus on developing specific skills and strengths. Learning to Learn teaches new workplace trainees the attitudes and skills needed for successful learning. Topics covered include failure, growth mindset, curiosity, lifelong learning, and problem solving and planning skills. The Willpower program uses a range of evidence-based strategies to improve self-control to enable participants to achieve their personal and work-related goals, drawing on ‘positive psychology’ research and cognitive-behavioral therapy methodology.
Managing My Money imparts a range of financial literacy skills such as budgeting, saving, and negotiation to enable participants to have a strong financial future.
Renewsiya Foundation’s core skills programs use interactive teaching methodologies, including group discussions, quizzes, games, and role playing. One program utilizes ‘participatory videography’ methodology where participants learn videography and interpersonal skills simultaneously. The program also provides an opportunity for employees to reflect upon their values and how these influence their decisions in the workplace and at home.

Employees from vulnerable backgrounds often struggle to meet workplace performance expectations due to complex personal and mental health issues. Renewsiya supports these employees through a workplace counsellor. The counsellor provides individualized support sessions using a range of therapeutic approaches to enhance recovery and core skills development.

Most employees have graduated from high schools but have been unable to pursue higher education due to poverty. Further study in fields such as Information Technology and Computer Programming allow employees to enhance their technical knowledge and skills to further their career options.
